With the goal of enhancing the protection of personal information, the Toyota Foundation complies with all laws and regulations regarding personal information protection and established the Personal Information Protection Guidelines to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately through the Foundation's own system and rules.

The Toyota Foundation Personal Information Protection Guidelines

Based on the principle of respect for the individual, the Toyota Foundation ("the Foundation") recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and formulated the Personal Information Guidelines stipulated below to ensure that such information is protected.

The Foundation will handle personal information appropriately, complying with all laws and regulations regarding the protection of such information.

2. Acquisition of Personal Information

The Foundation will acquire personal information in a legitimate and fair manner and will specify and state as clearly as possible the purpose(s) for which information will be used.

3. Use of Personal Information

The Foundation will use personal information only to the extent required to achieve the purpose(s) stated at the time the information was acquired. The Foundation will conduct necessary and appropriate supervision of any employees or third parties to whom it entrusts the handling of personal information.

4. Management of Personal Information

The Foundation will strive to maintain correct, up-to-date personal information to the extent required to achieve the stated purpose(s) and will take appropriate steps to ensure the security of the information, including by preventing disclosure, loss, or damage.

5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Except when required by law, the Foundation will not provide personal information to a third party without obtaining the prior consent of the individual concerned.

6. Disclosure, Revision, and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

The Foundation will reply promptly to requests from individuals for the disclosure, revision, addition, deletion, or suspension or cancellation of use of personal information, after completing necessary procedures such as confirming the identity of the individual.

7. Personal Information Management System

The Foundation has created a management system to ensure that personal information is handled correctly. In addition to managing personal information in a secure and appropriate manner, the Foundation endeavors to promote personal information protection through such measures as employee education and proper, prompt processing of complaints.
