The book, Moving Portraits: Life Stories of Children of Migrant and Multicultural Families in Asia, is one of the knowledge products that came out of the project, “Towards an inclusive environment for children of migrant and multicultural families in the Philippines, Japan and South Korea” (or The Enable Kids Project for short) in May, 2017. Edited by Maruja M.B. Asis and Karen Anne S. Liao, the volume features 27 life stories of children of migrant and multicultural families in the three countries. The life stories aim to inform policy-makers, raise public awareness about cultural diversity and social inclusion, and reach out to children in similar circumstances.
The Enable Kids Project was supported by the International Grant Program (D15-N-0041) of the Toyota Foundation, and it is headed by Dr. Maruja M.B. Asis, Director of Research and Publications at the Scalabrini Migration Center based in Manila, the Philippines.
