QMalicious Email Claiming to Come from the Toyota Foundation
-
AThe Toyota Foundation provides grant funding only to applicants who have submitted their application through the competitive selection process. None of our programs requires a recipient to make advance payment of any kind, nor do we offer any program that awards automobiles.
Specifically, so far we have been made aware that entities or individuals using names such as "Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust of the Toyota Foundation Japan, " "Mr. Jack Parkinson," "Toyota Foundation," "Toyota Global Foundation," or "Toyota Foundation Selangor Malaysia Office" -among others- continue to send fraudulent messages informing recipients that they have been selected to receive a grant, or have won a Toyota automobile, and then ask for personal information and advance payment of funds as part of the award process.
If you receive a suspicious message like the ones described above, or any other suspicious message, do not act on it. To keep your personal information safe, do not respond to the email at all. In particular, do not agree to make a payment of any kind. To prevent your personal information from falling into the wrong hands, do not respond in any way to the message received.
If you receive a suspicious message from someone claiming to be affiliated with the Toyota Foundation, please contact us at once (https://www.toyotafound.or.jp/english/inquiry/index.html). You can consult our official website and other materials to obtain accurate information on our programs.
